Our ambition is that every household will reduce the energy they use, the water they consume, recycle more and waste less, walk more and use the car as little as possible locally. The net result will be you’ll save money on your gas and electricity bills, emit less CO2 (which is one of the greenhouse gases the majority of scientists say causes climate change) and we’ll have less traffic congestion and pollution on our roads.
Specifically, we aim to achieve the following in each area:
Energy/CO2
Reduce the Community’s net energy use by 10% in year 1 (2010/11) both from reduced usage and through the generation of zero or low-carbon heat and power.
