High Barnet Car Club launches

HOW? 

With the High Barnet Car Club.
A Car Club is where people save vast sums and reduce pollution and traffic by sharing a car they can use at any time instead of each paying thousands of pounds for their own one.

To start a Car Club in High Barnet we need :-

150 people to sign up and pay only £59.50 each for a year’s Car Club membership

How would a car club benefit me?
It’s like having your own private taxi close by whenever you need it.

When you join the local club, you will have access to 100s of cars all over London and beyond.

It is particularly good if you have a second car - if you drive less than 6,000 miles per year, then a car club could save you up to £2,500 a year. Replacing a second family car with car club membership is likely to bring big cash savings.

A lot of people don’t notice the true costs of running a car, but when you add up the cost of tax, MOT, fuel, servicing, repairs, depreciation and parking you could be looking at an average of over £100 a week!  What would you spend it on?
A car club in an area dominated by on-street parking, eases parking congestion and helps residential parking zones reduce parking problems.

On average, 25% of car club members report a reduction in the number of vehicles owned by their household.  A further 30% defer purchasing a second.

The parking is allocated to the car club, therefore there will be a space either on the road or private allotted space, making parking easier. 

It’s flexible so you have a car when you need it, but don’t need to worry about it the rest of the time.

to pledge to join the High Barnet Community Car Club, send a cheque for £10 as a deposit* made out to the not-for-profit High Barnet Green Home Zone, 57 Falkland Road, Barnet EN5 4LQ

* One further payment of £49.50 will be due for your first year’s membership when the Car Club commences.

Your £10 deposit - Terms and conditions
HBGHZ will hold your deposit, payable by cheque, in an ESCROW account so that it is safe, until 150 people have signed up. If we do not have sufficient members to start the Car Club by 25 November 2010, we will offer to refund your deposit.

Earn money for your parking space
You could earn between £50-70 per year if you give your dedicated, off-road car parking space to the High Barnet Car Club. The space must be a single dedicated marked out bay so no one else parks there when the car is out. The bay must be accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, be secure, well lit and within High Barnet.
